Thought I'd try and do some experimentation this time around with more masculine body types. I know I didn't get it quite right, the chest is still not broad enough and the hips might still be too big, but it's progress? Gah, his elbow is fucked up, too. XD

...It kind of looks like a hotter, more confident version of ~sweet_adaliah's character, Einen. Maybe?

You know what?

I think it's awesome! :D

And it's not only more maculine but also a bit more realistic. And although your other work is pretty awesome too, I personnally prefer this :D

Thanks, I'll have to do more of it, then. ^^

Well, it's just my humble opinion. :)

He looks very cuddly, in my opinion, hehe. However, very good idea; This will definitely pay off in the future once you get a better nack of drawing characters with a slightly more realistic style, not to say your art's bad, of course! It's always good, but this will add a very nice since of depth to them, least I think so.

I like it, though to be honest I'd be hard-pressed to say exactly why. Easier to mentally connect with a more "realistic" image? I dunno. Something vague like that I can use to weasel out of putting more effort into thinking. He's very expressive for a sketch; the facial expression, pose, and unbuckled belt give a strong feeling of non-chalance. Though maybe he's just not quite aware of his size, since the belt and slightly too-tight shirt imply he was caught a bit off guard.

As a suggestion/criticism regarding the new style, I think his head seems a wee bit too small. Maybe it's the lack of weight carried in his face, maybe it's that your usual style creates a "triangle" effect from the big hips that makes it look more normal to get smaller as you go up, or maybe I just have small shoulders that make the distance between the sides of his neck and his shoulders seem more disparate. Drawing humans was always the one thing I had the most trouble with though, so I wouldn't take anything I say too seriously.
i like this better than some of your other work, too... although i agree with TheLastSock, his head does look disproportionately small.
Oh, I've been critiqued on the head-size of this particular sketch already, you you've definately got the issue right, there. I'm going to try and work to make that better in future pieces. :D Thanks for the comment.

That's not really a more masculine body type. He is just smaller that what you normally draw and you gave him more masculine clothes.
